March Tag Questions
Well well well... March has flown by, we are halfway through our challenge and I'm already up to 13 period films! I think it's about time that I re-updated my target as I'm flying by them! :) Here are the Tag Questions for this month from Miss Laurie of Old Fashioned Charm, who is hosting this super-fun challenge:
1. What period dramas have you watched in March?
I was fortunate enough to watch five period dramas this month:
The Final Inquiry, Hornblower: The Duchess and the Devil, Anne Frank: The Whole Story, Sense and Sensibility (2008), and Hornblower: The Frogs and the Lobsters. Both Hornblower's borrowed from a friend, the rest from my DVD collection.

2. How many adaptations of Jane Eyre have you seen? Do you have a favourite?
Erm... none... is that bad? :/
3. Do you prefer period drama villains who are cleverly cunning or downright diabolical?
I'm a big fan of murder suspense films such as Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes and the old TV series Murder, She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder. My favourite villains from these films and from period films are the cleverly cunning ones... ones that use their brains and their logic to stay away from capture and to perform their dastardly deeds... It makes it all that much more enjoyable when they get defeated, and it keeps you rooting for the hero or heroine.
<- This is my favourite example of a cleverly cunning villain... Chauvelin from The Scarlet Pimpernel... I don't think I know of a worse one.

4. How often does watching a period drama make you want to read the book it's based on?
no... these aren't mine... :(
Ha ha! Practically every time! Watching period films is the reason I own almost all of my 'classic' novels: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensbility (well... the whole Austen collection really), The Scarlet Pimpernel, Oliver Twist, North and South...
5. What older period drama would you like to see a remake of?
Eek... now that is a really hard and horrible question to ask! I'm not one to find a perfect cast for a film I've seen (though, this one is good) or talk about how the director could have done something different... but if I thought about it really hard I could come up with a couple...
Hmm....
Thinking!....
Okay: I think that Jane Austen's Persuasion and Mansfield Park could be remade as well as the 2009 Emma was remade... also I think it would be fun if The Sound of Music was redone. Now did you hear me complaining about the old one? No... I love Julie Andrews, I just think it would be fun to see a newer version.
