January Tag Questions
Well, January has come to an end, and I am so pleased to have been able to review three period dramas. I'm almost halfway to my goal of eight! Although, I have to be honest, I do aim to do as many as I can before July 7th, whether that be eight or twenty-eight! :) Here are the tag questions from Miss Laurie of Old Fashioned Charm who is hosting this delightful challenge:
1. What period dramas have you watched in January?
I was fortunate enough to watch Horatio Hornblower: The Even Chance, Horation Hornblower: The Examination of Lieutenant (borrowed from a friend), and North and South ( BBC 2004) (which I watched off of YouTube... all four hours... :P)
2. Do you prefer period dramas peppered with humor or laced with dark emotions?
Hm... Tricky question.
Humour is good... but I do love emotions more. :) I love the conflicting emotions in period dramas like North and South, when the characters display their human flaws and they have to work to understand each other.

3. What was the first period drama miniseries (two episodes or longer) that you ever watched?
Yes, I am actually! :)
Pride and Prejudice 1995! I watched the whole thing one night with my family and fell heads over heels. By then I had seen the 2005 version and read the book, so I was delighted to see a version that held true to the witticism of Jane Austen and the costumes of the time period.
*Actually, after further thought, the very first period drama miniseries I watched would have been Megan Follows' Anne of Green Gables. Fell in love. Need to see it again. :)*

5. What period drama, that you haven't seen before, are you most looking forward to seeing in the future?
Probably Ramola Garai's 2009 Emma. I've heard so many people rave about it and I just love her in Amazing Grace.
I'm also looking forward to watching The Princess Bride. I also have this on loan from a friend and hope to see it soon before I have to return it! :)
